Patsy Davis Marriott
PLAINVIEW - Patsy Davis Marriott, 49, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Calvary Baptist Church of Tulia
with the Rev. Don Auten, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rose
Hill Cemetery in Tulia by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview.

Mrs. Marriott was born and raised in Tulia where she attended school.
She had lived in Oklahoma City and worked at the Veterans of Foreign
Wars Post in Midwest City, Okla. She was treasurer and member of the
Ladies Auxiliary Post 9969. She moved to Plainview in 1997.

Survivors include her parents, Betty Jo Davis of Tulia and Leonard L.
Davis of Plainview; four sons, Shane Davis and Coty Marriott, both of
Plainview, and Jerry Allen Payne and Bobby Payne, both of Quitaque;
three sisters, Betty Starnes of Tulia, Bonnie White of Plainview and
Lynda Freeman of Oklahoma City; four brothers, Lyndell Davis of Tulia,
Warren Davis and Sammy Davis, both of Plainview, and Walter "Dub"
Davis of Amherst; and four grandchildren.

Kattie Brown
CHILDRESS - Kattie Brown, 86, of Fort Worth and a former resident of
Childress, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Childress Cemetery
with the Rev. Jim McCurley, pastor of First Baptist Church,
officiating. Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Brown was born in Blossom. She had lived in Fort Worth for the
past six years. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church
of Childress.

She married Stroud F. Brown who died in 1953. She also was preceded in
death by a daughter, Delores Hammond, in 1989.

Survivors include a son, Stroud Brown of Fort Worth; a daughter, Gwen
Gallagher of Wilcox, Ariz.; five grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; and a greatgreat-grandchild.

Mary Louise Hammonds Bollman
LOCKNEY - Mary Louise Hammonds Bollman, 88, died Thursday, Feb. 5,
1998.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with
the Rev. Tommie Beck, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lockney
Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bollman was born in Lockney where she remained a lifelong
resident. She graduated from Lockney High School in 1929. She received
a degree in home economics from Texas Wesleyan University in 1934.

Mrs. Bollman was named Lockney's Woman of the Year in 1986 and Floyd
County Pioneer Woman at the Floyd County Pioneer Reunion Day
celebration in 1989. She was a charter member of the Buffalo Grass
chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a
homemaker and dedicated volunteer.

Mrs. Bollman had a love for history and was an avid genealogist. She
went all over Texas and the country doing genealogical work for the
Floyd County Historical Museum. She spent many hours mapping the
Lockney Cemetery to identify unmarked graves after cemetery records
for the older part of the cemetery were lost in a fire. She also
identified many of the unmarked graves in the South Plains area.

Mrs. Bollman was interested in local archaeological digs at Blanco
Canyon. She was a member of several genealogical societies throughout
the state. Her historical and genealogical work became so well known
that in 1991, Bob Phillips, the"Texas County Reporter," featured her
and her work on his program. The program was titled "The Cemetery
Lady
" and focused on her cemetery, genealogical, and historical work.

Mrs. Bollman supported the Floyd County Historical Museum and was a
member of the board of directors. In 1989, the museum created "The
Mary Lou Bollman History and Genealogy Center
" in honor of her.

Mrs. Bollman was a member of quilting guilds in Lubbock, Lockney and
Plainview. Her quilts won recognition at local shows and exhibitions.

She married Henry A. Bollman in 1939 at Floydada. He died in 1981. She
also was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Graham, in 1992.

Survivors include two sons, Wiley Bollman of Lubbock and Bill Bollman
of Katy; a daughter, Louise Burton of Claymont, Del.; six
grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Museum's Mary Lou Bollman Genealogy and Historical Center, 105 E.
Missouri, Floydada, Texas, 79235.

Lucile Merrill
PLAINVIEW - Lucile Merrill, 86, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church, Family
Life Chapel, with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, and Lenard Hartley, nephew,
officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons
Funeral Home.

Mrs. Merrill was born in Aiken. She lived in Swisher County after her
marriage and moved to Edmonson in 1937. She was active in the Edmonson
community and taught Sunday School at First Baptist Church for several
years.

Mrs. Merrill moved to Plainview in 1978. She was a member of First
Baptist Church in Plainview.

She married Ben Merrill in 1933 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1989.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Melba Hartley of Plainview; and six
nephews.

Eileen Hood Wynn
CHILDRESS - Eileen Hood Wynn, 78, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Childress Cemetery
with the Rev. Kerry Wood, music minister of First Baptist Church,
officiating. Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wynn was born in Childress and was a lifetime resident. She was a
homemaker and member of First Baptist Church.

She was married to H.O. Wynn for 58 years. He died in 1997.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Cheatheam of Granbury; a
brother, Bill E. Hood of Fort Worth; two grandchildren; and a
great-grandson.

Inez Vititow
HEREFORD - Inez Vititow, 89, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Parkside Chapel with the Rev.
Mack Streun officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in
Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview.

Mrs. Vititow was born in Vasco. She moved to Hereford in 1946. She
retired after 25 years of employment as a licensed vocational nurse
with Plainview Hospital. She was a charter member of the Church of God
in Plainview and was the church clerk for more than 25 years.

She married C.W. Vititow in 1938 at Wheeler County. He died in 1987.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Brown of Oilton and Nelda
Fortenberry of Hereford; three sisters, Fanny West of Pampa, and
Juanita Lightfoot and Elinita Atkins, both of Amarillo; six
grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-grandchild.

The family requests memorials be to King's Manor Methodist Home, 400
Ranger, Hereford, Texas 79045; or Crown of Texas Hospice; or a
favorite charity.

Dossie V. Terrell
MAPLE - Dossie V. Terrell, 87, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel of
Muleshoe with the Rev. Stacy Conner, pastor of First Baptist Church of
Muleshoe, officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery in
Morton.

Mr. Terrell was born in Waxachachie and moved to the Maple community
in 1928. He was a member of the Lions Club and First Methodist Church
of Morton. He served on the Threeway school board and was a director
of the Maple Coop Gin. He was active in coaching Little League
baseball.

Mr. Terrell was a retired farmer. He moved to Albany eight months ago.

He married Ruth Elizabeth Toombs in 1928 at Littlefield. She died in
1983.

Survivors include a son, Tommy Terrell of Albany; a daughter, Barbara
Hanson of Livingston; two sisters, Audie Collins of Littlefield and
Juanita Hinig of Duarte, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and eight
great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1682
Hickory, Abilene, Texas, 79601.

Gladys Anglin
GROOM - Gladys Anglin, 86, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Groom City Cemetery
with the Rev. Tom Moore of First United Methodist Church officiating.
Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.

Mrs. Anglin was born in Tell and had been a Groom resident since 1928.
She was a homemaker.

She married Irwin Anglin in 1927. He died in 1987. She also was
preceded in death by a daughter, Yolanda Clark, in 1991, and two sons,
Kenneth and Donald Anglin.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley A. Fields of Groom; a son, Leon
Anglin of Mountain Home, Ark.; a sister, Jewel Mitchell of Tucumcari,
N.M.; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and five
great-great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be to the Groom Ambulance fund.

Amarillo

Lupe R. Amon
Lupe R. Amon, 72, of Amarillo, died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today in North Mausoleum Chapel of
Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Arnulfo Gradillas of Saint
Laurence Cathedral officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park
Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505
Martin Road.

Mrs. Amon was born in Artesia, N.M., and moved to Amarillo in 1947.
She was a homemaker and a Catholic.

She married Harold Amon in 1947 at Artesia. He died in 1989.

Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Taylor of Amarillo; a son, Frank
Amon of Clarendon; and a granddaughter.

The family will be at 1329 Aster.

Joe Bonner
Joe Bonner, 89, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery
with the Rev. Larry Crumpton of Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church
officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors,
Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street.

Mr. Bonner was born in Bayminette, Ala. He moved to Amarillo 31 years
ago from Ada, Okla. He retired as the service manager of King Trailer
after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Tenth Avenue United
Methodist Church.

He married Artie Bell Steven in 1930 at Ada.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Jean Beaty, Barbara Black
and Betty Norman, all of Amarillo; two sons, Lewis Bonner and Terry
Bonner, both of Arvada, Colo.; a brother, L.L. Bonner of Kerrville; 13
grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

The family will be at 5615 W. 43rd Street. They request memorials be
to the Crown of Texas Hospice.

Bertie J. Tyler
Bertie J. Tyler, 95, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral
Directors Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with the Rev. Jerry
Billington, associate pastor of Trinity Fellowship Church, and the
Rev. Gary Kellison, pastor Bethel Assembly, officiating. Burial will
be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Tyler was born in Platter, Okla., and had been an Amarillo
resident since 1950. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of
Christ.

She married Alfred H. Tyler in 1919 at Milburn, Okla. She was preceded
in death by her husband in 1990, a son, C.L. Tyler, and a daughter,
Margie Melton.

Survivors include three sons, Melvin Tyler of Amarillo, Elvis Tyler of
Graham and Walter Tyler of Lewiston, Calif.; five daughters, Ethel Mae
Peterson of Pioneer, Calif., Vernice Montgomery of Princeton, Phyllis
Smith of Sunray, Linda Pelham of Brownwood and Mellodean Mitchell of
Amarillo; a brother, Earnest Alexander Spradling of Marshall; three
sisters, Alta Lee Climmer of Tulsa, Okla., Julie Bell Palmer of
Milburn and Artie Bloodworth of Tulelake, Calif.; 31 grandchildren; 46
great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Terry
Dorothy Terry, 76, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church
with Dr. Dana Moore officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park
Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40.

Mrs. Terry was born in Bartlesville, Okla. She moved to Amarillo from
Borger in 1950. She was a homemaker and member of Pleasant Valley
Baptist Church.

She married Roy Terry in 1939 at Bartlesville.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Roy Terry Jr. of Amarillo; two
daughters, Wanda Leonard of Roanoke and Myrtle Thorpe of Amarillo; two
sisters, Letha Griggs and Norma Lee Parrett, both of Bartlesville;
nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at 508 W. Colorado. They request memorials be to
Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center of Amarillo.

Canyon

Louella May
Louella May, 95, of Canyon, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Dreamland Cemetery
with Dr. Charles Price, pastor First Baptist Church, officiating.
Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors.

Mrs. May was born in Leake County, Miss. She moved to Wilbarger
County, Texas at a young age then moved to Circle Back community in
1940. She moved to Canyon in 1978 and was a member of Grace Baptist
Church.

She married W. Earl May in 1920 at Quanah. He died in 1987. She also
was preceded in death by a son, Willis C. May, in 1945.

Survivors include seven sons, Charles E. May of West Covina, Calif.,
John W. May of Jay, Fla., Hubert L. May of Ventura, Calif., Harold W.
May of Moreno Valley, Calif., C.D. May of Canyon, Ramon L. May of
Billingsley, Ala., and Damon D. May of Fort Worth; two daughters,
Helen Ann Fahl of Brownsville, Calif., and Wanda F. Owens of San
Angelo; a sister, Lillie Reynolds of Canyon; seven grandchildren; and
five great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity.

Betty Sue Campbell Gilley
NEW WAVERLY - Betty Sue Campbell Gilley, 66, died Thursday, Feb. 5,
1998.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Claude Cemetery in
Claude by Huntsville Funeral Home.

Survivors include a son, Dennis Craig Gilley; four daughters, Margaret
Diane Gilley of Huntsville, Mary Deane Gilley Beeman and Derinda Sue
Gilley Hanes, both of Madisonville, and DeLena Maurice Gilley Wojcik
of New Waverly; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. today at the
funeral home. They request memorials be to the American Kidney
Foundation.

Imogene M. South
BEATRICE, Neb. - Imogene M. "Jean" South, 67, a former Amarillo
resident, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Harman-Wright Mortuary Chapel
in Beatrice with the Rev. Dennis Hotovy officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen Home Cemetery.

Mrs. South was born in Beatrice. She and her husband owned Bell Liquor
Store in Amarillo for more than 30 years. She returned to Beatrice in
1995.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph.

Survivors include two aunts, Doris Bookwalter of Beatrice and Bernice
Kuhns of Virginia, Neb.; and five cousins.

Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family requests memorials be to the American Cancer Society with
the mortuary in charge.
